- This two-step straight permanent system contains a straightener and neutralizer, which is a permanent solution that is used with a hot straightening iron.
- Work in good ventilation, wear gloves, and protect skin (barrier cream on hairline/ears).
- Do not proceed on hair that’s damaged (over-bleached, previously has done hair coloring, or perm), over henna/metallic dyes, or if scalp is irritated. If hair has been previously permed, only apply to unpermed area.
- Strand test + patch test first.
Step 1: Prep & cleanse
Wash with a clarifying shampoo (no conditioner). Towel dry, then blow-dry 100%. Detangle and section into 4–6 panels.
Apply Straightener #1 (H/N/EX). Put on gloves. Apply 1–2 cm (½–¾ in) away from the scalp, saturating evenly. Comb straight with minimal tension. It is not recommended to apply to previously permed hair.
Step 2: Process (timing guide—start on the low end, confirm with a strand test)
General room-temp guide: ~10–25 min depending on hair condition. For very resistant hair, leave on for 25 minutes. For previously colored, or bleached hair, apply for only 10 minutes and confirm with strand test if hair is ready.
Quick start ranges (common pro ranges):
Resistant/virgin → H: ~20–25 min*
Normal → N: ~15–25 min*
Sensitized/damaged → EX: ~10–15 min max*
*Always confirm with a strand test: stretch a test hair; when it extends and returns smoothly without rubbery feel, you’re ready.
Step 3: Rinse
Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water (no shampoo) for 3–5 minutes. Towel-dry, then blow-dry 100%.
Step 4: Flat-iron (critical for straight perm shape)
Iron in very extreme small sections (5 mm–1 cm). 160–180 °C (320–356 °F), ~2 seconds per inch, 1–2 passes—enough to set smoothness. Hair must be bone-dry before straight ironing. Be patient with straightening the hair.
Step 5: Neutralize (#2) after straight ironing is done. Apply the #2 Neutralizer Emulsion evenly from roots to ends. Comb straight. Leave 10–15 minutes (**keep hair straight, don’t clip/bend**)
Step 6: Final rinse & dry thoroughly.
Rinse with lukewarm water (no shampoo). Gently towel, blow-dry straight (no round-brushing).
Aftercare (first 48–72 hours)
Keep hair dry and straight—no washing, tying, tucking behind ears, hats, or clips.
Sleep on a silk/satin pillowcase and keep hair straight while you sleep.
After 72 hours, wash with sulfate-free shampoo; use heat protectant when styling

Good and sent the correct items
I discovered this by accident and was shocked by how well it cleans. I have old brushes that were stained even though I had cleaned and sanitized them. This made them look brand new! I clean my brushes weekly and between clients, so I clean brushes a lot. This uses very little product and cleans fast and thoroughly. I’ll never use anything else again!

Yes! It’s the same color that I have been using since, 1995! So Yes, I’m very aware of the Wella brand. The main reason I bought 3 tubes of it, is because Wella is no longer making anymore of the “Cream” colors! They are now only making die in liquid form in little bottles. They have even sent conversion charts to every vendor that sells Wella. So customers who previously only used the cream dies, can look up the new liquid codes for their preferred colors!!!!
